    Monthly Meeting Thank you for your interest in the Greater Akron Orchid Society (GAOS). Our mission is to: Promote the understanding, culture and growing of orchids to its members by providing the necessary resources, tools, and information to be successful growers of orchids; to leverage the knowledge of its members through monthly meetings and presentations focused on a variety of aspects of growing orchids inside or outdoors. We endeavor to make the orchid growing experience fun. Our Society offers the following opportunities to members: - Monthly meetings provide fellowship and foster networking for our members to share interests and information. Meetings are held virtually and in-person - Expert speakers present on varying topics focused on the successful growing and care of orchids - Member plant sales/silent auctions are held to promote the exchange of orchids between members - Annual adjudicated show where members can showcase their orchids and have them judged by professional orchid growers - Growers Club presentations focus on basic care and feeding of orchids - Monthly show table where members bring in their blooming plants for show and tell - Monthly informative newsletter. - Free Holiday orchid to all paid members - Opportunities to purchase plants from local vendors

This year’s Rose Day not only celebrates the beauty of roses but also highlights the profound impact of collective community support. Rose Remembrance Day, which features the sale of stunning red roses, plays a crucial role in funding the Kiwanis Club’s programs and initiatives. The event is a testament to the power of community involvement, with all proceeds directly benefiting local children’s programs, educational scholarships, and various community service projects. “The support we receive from the community during Rose Remembrance Day is instrumental in enabling us to carry out our mission, every rose purchased represents a commitment to enhancing the lives of our local children and families.
